4gb onboard sounds cool, but with usb support (finally!) it seems a little superfluous. It would really only be used for saves i assume, and most saves are under 1mb, so you could have ~250 saves on the old model 360 without worrying about space.

A person can buy DVD's almost everywhere. They do not need either of these creep shows. I doubt if I have spent a total of $100 combined between them. Wal-Mart (especially) just gives me a totally negative feeling. I will not spend my hard-earned there, regardless of what their prices are.

Actually you can already. I just put some 'MacRumors' text on the back to maybe steal some folders from other teams when i release the beta to the whole wide world ;).

The guy in the link is talking about raising revenue only, and since I can't find his post critiqued elsewhere (though it's quoted elsewhere), I don't know how accurate his numbers are. In any case, he doesn't seem to be including any cuts to the budget, which is ridiculous. Nor does he account for the fact that the recession has produced an ebb in tax revenues which will recede as jobs come back. It's a pretty one-dimensional argument.
That's true but I can't understand how anyone can be looking at this years budget deficit on top of the entire 14trillion+ deficit and not saying America needs huge (in the trillions) cuts and now. If his numbers are even close to right then there is just no way the US can conceivably pay off even this years deficit. What if the recovery doesn't happen fast enough or at all? The united states goes bankrupt.

Actually... my Samsung Focus (Windows Phone 7) updated itself at 1:59 to 3:00... I watched. I believe this is an Apple level problem, not Microsoft ;)

Phones keep time while they're off. Phone's also don't check to see what time it is, every hour, they check when they're turned on. The network provides a fallback, but the phone should know what time it is, too. There's no excuse for Apple's spotty coding. None.

Apps all run in the same format and screen size. Even the new retina display is only an enlargement of the original format, but shown at the higher resolution. Apps running on the iPad run at the native format, or specifically for the iPad format, which is different code.
If Apple introduced a different sized screen, that would be a pain to the installed base and app developer. For this reason, I don't think it is true.
Is it not possible that perhaps you could have a smaller screen with a higher pixel density than the 3G and thus the same resolution in order to prevent this issue?

You don't want to pay less, no? :rolleyes: The more complaining and bad feedback we give Apple that this service is simply too expensive the better, and the better chance we have they will begin to pay attention to loads (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=.Mac%20too%20expensive&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8) of posts/blogs/and stories on this. I feel sick when I have to tell someone how much it costs. I mean they say .Mac syncing is included! GMail is free too. iWeb provides little bandwidth, and the whole this is wrapped-up with a tiny storage package. And I don't think the solution is for Apple to give us more storage. I would prefer a cheaper price to more storage any-day. If you want moe storage then you pay $99, otherwise this should cost no more than $49 per year. At the VERY MOST!!

Can anyone confirm that the update does not make the Mac Pro noisier?
In the past Apple has repeatedly upgraded fan speeds by these updates a couple of months AFTER all reviews had been written. I had once bought my Powerbook G4 (besides other aspects) because it was very quite. A few SMC updates later the fan was running continuously and as such probably lowering average temperatur and service return rate for Apple.
I did the firmware, the SMC was not needed, and no, the machine is not any louder for me.
