the iphone, while impressive, really isnt it. a fullscreen ipod i think woulda been nice, that with the iphone woulda earned this keynote a very high ranking.

The thing I truely love about Apple, is they look after their customers with regular updates to their software with useful features added. I can't think of another company that will add so many new features without charging users for it.
And with some luck it might be faster as well, something that Apple are great at delivering as well, better and faster.

Even Bill Gates, for what it is worth, grew up in a nice sheltered family with rich parents.
Bill Gates was also a programmer at Apple, when Steve and company visited Xerox Parc and learned about the windows GUI concept. Bill took that concept when he left Apple and started Microsoft, then teamed up with IBM that was looking for a new OS to use with their PC's. Which they would later sell to corporate America, the government, and the military. Also with IBM clones, Windows PC's would become affordable for the average person needing a computer. Hence the reason there are more PC users than Mac users, but that is starting to change as Windows becomes less secure and more bloated.

This arguement will go around and around in circles, but look, people could have been saved if the administration had not cut funds to FEMA and redirected them to the war in Iraq. If Bill could get impeached because he got head, then is it unreasonable to hold George acountable for this?

For those of you running Aperture on a Mac Pro, did you notice the new RAM requirement on http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/? It says "2GB of RAM required for Mac Pro." I've been running Aperture just fine on my new Mac Pro with the standard 1GB of RAM. Like many new Mac Pro owners, I've been holding off on upgrading the RAM until it gets a little cheaper. The 1.5 update installer better not refuse to install on my Mac because of insufficient RAM; I'll be pretty upset if it does. :(

the apple remote is an optional extra! like the superdrive, theres an optional extra ethernet USB adapter.
The price of the "Superdrive" ($99) is the real revolution. I've paid more than twice as much just for replacing the Combodrive of my Powerbook G4 with a Superdrive...
Now if Apple would start charging reasonable prices for RAM...

IMO, until the ipad gets this, which is entirely possible, it will remain more of a toy than a tool, and all these commercials will be nothing but fodder for the haters.

One hospital just bought 1800 iPads for example. In the HIS world (Hospital Information Systems) there are tons of articles illustrating how iPads are being adopted. A recent article talked about how iOS is trouncing everything else with a 90% share among health professionals.

I am just rotate the orientation of the third image and the view is different and you can see that the text and the logo is just in a perfect place and no distortion as being mentioned earlier.. this is due to the actual orientation and the camera lens that being use to capture it.. perspective create a distortion that sometimes our eyes can be dupe with...

Unlocked by Lion it doubles as an Ipad.
Shrink it in the microwave & it's an iPhone!

Essentially, the FairPlay system is one that implies a certain amount of trust. Once you authorize a machine all of the purchased tracks from that account on the machines can be decrypted. Even if they are not on the machine at the time of the authorization and the machine is not on the network at the time (I have played back encrypted videos on DVD-R on my iBook while it was not on the 'net.)
I'm pretty sure that that's not how FairPlay works. I think it goes something like this...
When iTunes tries to play a protected media file, it asks for an ID of the device that it is trying to play on (serial number, or something like that). Each media file contains a list of devices for which it has been authorised. If the current device is not in this list, iTunes offers the possibility to add the device to the list of devices authorised for this media file. Of course, you would have to be an idiot to do so, because your ID is embedded in the file, allowing the legal eagles to nab you. Why is Apple the only tech company that makes unique products? All the other big ones seem to just drop in behind Apple after they invent something... Examples:
�Phones that are designed to simply compete with the iPhone.
�Pretty much every non-Apple tablet.
�iMac lookalikes.
�I've even seem some unibody copy cats...
Why don't they try and come up with something of their own instead of trying to "make a better Apple product"? Its annoying... :mad:

I don't give a damn. If I pay for a chunk of data, it isn't up to the provider to dictate how I use my data. If I want to syphon fuel out of my vehicle for use in another, that is my decision not Exxon's.
Read the contract you signed... you aren't paying for "a chunk of data".
You are paying for access to data via an approved device and method.
That access has limitations and restrictions.
Don't like the restrictions, choose another provider.
Your gas analogy is not relevant. The gas you buy has no such restrictions, so you are free to use it in whatever vehicle you choose.
