I think in theory if you damaged the phone and got the replacement in the US the replacement phone would be locked, even for you having a legit unlock.
But yeah, official unlock should be permanent.

Don't. The original reply was right - you should use Spotlight for searching system-wide.
Setting a depth of infinity in the Catalog will cause Quicksilver to slow down considerably. Put the folders you most access there, and set a depth of 0, 1 or 2.

Hi-
Is there any way to get all the stuff that's on my old harddrive onto one of my newer Macs?
The G3's running OS 8.5.1.
I guess if it's possible it'd have to be via ethernet?
It's one of the earlier models that doesn't even have USB (not that that'd make any difference).

To wrap up...
People were joining the queue at 5pm still, stocks were extremely limited by that point and only a handful of specific models remained.
Overall the queue was well over 200 growing steadily all afternoon.
Staff were great, chatty and friendly and dishing out StarBucks coffee and bottled water all afternoon
Here a quick video of the moment of the curtain drop which i saw thanks to a timely reshuffle of the queue
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT0-RKR0wF8&hd=1
I was 80th in line and managed to get everything i wanted and was out of the store and on my way home by about 5:45pm
Fairly well organised and would definitely consider going there again for a launch
the way launch was handled at some stores here in the US was a nightmare! :eek:

For anyone else on here I just found my answer here it is below.
the Wi-Fi radio will power down after 90 seconds, and the hotspot will no longer broadcast its availability to Wi-Fi devices. Just unlock the phone, and navigate to the hotspot settings screen to wake it from its slumber. In testing, I occasionally also had to toggle the hotspot switch to Off and back to On to reactivate it.

Mine's very quiet, can barely hear it at all. Only thing I hear is if my external hdd are on and those are pretty quiet themselves!

Cool idea but you need to change your crappy thread title. We all know there's "iPhone 6G" right now. Just tell it like it is and we'll deal with the rest later. come on man

Why would you bother locking your iMac to your desk?
It's called a deadbolt. Get one. :rolleyes:

I liked it. I think people got a little too carried away with this being "an issue". The most important information I found out is how big a loser I am since all of my dots were concentrated within a 50 mile radius. This got me thinking I need to take a vacation soon and add some more dots elsewhere in this world :D
I've been at school since I got my iPhone. My dots were concentrated in a 5 mile radius lol.

ok just let me know soon otherwise I might just buy a 5g iPod new for $170.
By the way, how is the battery?
And can you set the screen to light up on so you can use it in the dark?

I wanted to use everything I had here to get iTunes to all corners of the house. This consisted of a Mac Pro running iTunes, a first gen patched AppleTV running 3.0.2, a first gen jailbroken iPod Touch running 3.1.3 and a first gen jailbroken iPad running 4.2.1. I have the Mac Pro running through a stereo receiver in the office, the AppleTV running through a home theater and the iPad connected to a portable stereo we can move around. The iPod Touch and iPad have Remote HD installed. Everything works perfectly, except the when the iPad screen turns off. The audio continues to play but is extremely choppy. I've googled and googled and haven't found any resolution. Anyone else experience this?
I used this process (http://www.macstories.net/tutorials/how-to-turn-your-iphone-and-ipad-into-airplay-speakers/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+macstories%2Fvip+%28MacStories+VIP%29) to get the iPad as speakers.

hey guys i am adding ads to my app
i have a tab bar application and put adds on three of the tabs
to do this i dragged a add from the libary to where i want it to be
for each view controller that corrisponded to the tab i made it a ad delegate imported the ad framwork and made it a property and IBOutlet, i linked everything up in interface builder the ad to delegate and delegate to add, but the ad only randomly runs on my device.. why? heres my code
#import <UIKit/UIKit.h>
#import "TableViewController.h"
#import <iAd/iAd.h>
@class TableViewController;
@interface AddViewController : UIViewController <UITextFieldDelegate,ADBannerViewDelegate>
{
UITextField *nameField;
UITextField *descriptionField;
TableViewController *delegate;
ADBannerView *banner;
}
@property (nonatomic, assign) TableViewController *delegate;
@property (nonatomic, assign) IBOutlet UITextField *nameField;
@property (nonatomic, assign) IBOutlet UITextField *descriptionField;
- (IBAction)cancel:(id)sender;
@property(nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet ADBannerView *banner;
- (void)save;
- (void)cancel;
@end
I would suggest looking over the documentation. In any event this is normal behavior.

The keys are the same on both. The angle of the two keyboards MIGHT be different, but I'm not sure.

Try manually mounting your time machine backup. It is stored on your backup disk as a *.sparsebundle file. Execute the following command to access it :
sudo hdiutil attach <time_machine_file.sparsebundle>
sudo hdiutil attach <time_machine_file.sparsebundle>

@herruberraschen - are there any online at a reasonably affordable price? most iPod classic's earlier than the 7th gen are more expensive (at a new price) than the current gen. :-/
If not I may break down and pay the extra amount for the older 5/5.5 model.
Overstock.com has some cheap ones occasionally
