While I have no interest in this app, it is disappointing that they left PowerPC in the dust. Hopefully this isn't a new trend other companies will follow.
Apple is quickly moving its focus towards Intel Macs, and no longer sells Power PC systems in many places.
While that may be true, there are still plenty of PowerPC customers out there. Probably more than Mac x86, right? Then again, as it was said by someone here, this was probably just meant to be a Windows only app, so they might have just made a Mac x86 version so that there could be some Mac support.

Having run Linux for the past two years, I find this bit hilarious.
Yeah, no kidding. I have all three flavors sitting at my desk at home. I have a Win 7 gaming rig, Mac Mini, and an old P4 Linux machine. Personally, I have never found Windows difficult to use, especially compared to Linux. So, do I have split personalities or something?
Anyway, I am the total opposite of most of these. I do have a college degree, but I am nearly a carnivore, can't stand wine (give me a good craft beer or whiskey), prefer Dr. Pepper, and I have no idea what San Pellegrino Limonata is. If I rode a bike, it would be something insanely fast that would get me killed quickly, like a Ducati or something.

We haven't seen what Amazon's prices are for the iPad but I bet after a few weeks when demand dies down a bit, we are going to see $20 bucks off the sales price if not a bit more.
So how is it that Apple can only give the education sector a $20 discount per device when Amazon can buy this device from Apple (who is making a profit), resell it to consumers, AND STILL MAKE A PROFIT?
I'm not sure if Apple is being entirely greedy though and these things are rarely as simple as people try to make them out to be. For one, I bet there are concern's related to their resellers. Its simple, if Apple wants out of their contact with ATT, then let them do things like this, where Apple can say ATT is breaching their contract and making apple lose sales. So because of this apple is going to break their contract legally.

Once I have a decent method of getting my movies from my computer to my TV (i.e. iTV), and iTunes has more selection, I plan on never buying another DVD again. I'm in the minority here I'm sure, but for how long? How long before digital distribution is the method of choice for your average Joe?
I agree, except for one little thing===> HD Content distribution. No real solution for that one yet. You can't very easily d/l a 25GB HD movie. Even compressed, it's a massive freakin' file. I don't think there's a comsumer level internet connection that could support such content offerings.
So where does that leave us? We'll be able to d/l SD movies & TV. Brick and Mortar retailers can continue to sell hard copies with special features and HD DVD/Blu-Ray discs as well. Any retailer worth their weight in liquid soap will markup premium content and delivery formats, and everything will work out fine, until the next big change or trend.

I have the new ipad 2 and installed xcode 3.2 from my snow leopard disc, but there's no option to enable developer mode in iTunes (latest version). Does anyone know how to enable developer mode?

It's pretty clear that the lens is in a deeper "well" in the white model. This is consistent with the rumor that light was impinging on the camera in the white model. What you need to do is limit all light that isn't coming from directly in front of the lens. No light from the side, and definitely no light from the inside of the camera. The way to fight it if you have an SLR? Invest in an old fashioned thing called a bellows, which shields the lens from any light that isn't coming from the area you can focus on, and which doesn't do anything but add glare or make blacks in the picture more like dark gray. This deeper camera acts like a bellows, I presume, blocking any light coming through the white, more translucent body.
Nice theory except that a bellows goes between the lens and the camera. I believe the item you are looking for is a lens shade. ;)

Just wondering how Japan perceives Apple as a company - if anyone knows. I know they don't like Microsoft (as in Xbox). I can't imagine they sell many Apple computers over there. Ipods a different story?
Last I remember, Japan and Korea tend to show loyalty to Japanese companies, hence Sony playstation doing well in Japan. I also remember reading that iPod is #3 in like Japan, a #4 in Korea or something.

You know what? There was an ex-MTV VJ that made his own show using a Powerbook and two mics and he called it "Podcasting." There was an issue of Wired Magazine with him on the cover damn near two years ago. People were using the term "podcast" before Apple did. Apple has no right to do thsi to teh people who've made their player the most successful MP3/Portable Media device EVER.

You're right that Windows has the major retail cash register & ATM market down. However, a lot of stores don't use Windows (pretty much any small business that uses those casio cash registers doesn't, and many chains like 99 cent stores just use those tiny keyboard-is-the-computer registers that I am 100% certain DO NOT run Windows).
On that note, I can tell you that Dish Network uses Linux on all of their receivers, but then Comcast and VZ use Windows on their receivers *ponders*
