It's a bit rich, over here in Europe were much more forward in Gay rights, maybe we should be teaching the US how it's done?!
Can't we work together? Suggestions that all of Europe is ahead of the US in gays is most likely not true, but I agree Europe on average seems to be ahead in gays rights generally.

if your machine shipped with SL you must use a disk that came from an identical machine, otherwise the disc won't hold the drivers necessary.
Mine shipped with Leopard and I used a SL upgrade DVD. Technically you're only allowed to 'upgrade' it, however it is possible to do a clean install, and I've done it before.
I'm obtaining a 10A432 build at the moment from the net.
Edit: Just checked and yup my current build is 10A432

Can't quite figure this one out, but I had problems with this when I tried upgrading my RAM with OWC 4GB (single stick). I am using Apple's latest base Mac Mini 2.4 C2D with 2GB RAM.
Switched back to stock 2GB that came with the unit and haven't had problems since. Just a few days ago, I came home and woke my computer from sleep and had the same fuzzy whitish colorish screen (I know this is bad English, but stick with me here). It looks the same as an old TV trying to tune in a station, but much smaller pixels. After about 5 seconds, everything went back to normal and I haven't had problems since. Any thoughts on what this could be? Bad GPU, bad RAM?, bad logic unit?

thanks :) I don't really have a problem typing on it when I'm looking at the keyboard - hopefully with a bit more practice it'll get better :)

Hi everybody,
Some time ago, my Powermac Dual G5 2.7Ghz started to have some problems. It seems like there is a problem with one of the processors.
Now i have the posibility to buy a powermac G5 2.5 DP quad core with a broken powersupply.
Is the powersupply of my broken G5 2.7 the same as in the the 2.5 quad core? Is it possible to build over?
Hope you guys understand my question, english isn't to good :)
Kind regards,
en thx in advance,
Floris

What projects are you trying to use with CUDA?
I know Collatz fails. I talked with the project admin about it. He doesn't even own a Mac, so I've no clue why there even IS a Mac CUDA app there.
SETI doesn't work, nor does Einstein. Both need more than 450MB of VRAM, which many CUDA-enabled Mac cards simply don't have.
PrimeGrid's PPS and GCW sieve apps work fine on my GT 330M in the MacBook Pro. Running 10.6.6 and the latest BOINC version (6.10.58 - not the beta - this is important!)
As for where the problem lies...I dunno. I'd need a bit more information (ie what project/subprojects you're trying to run) and what kind of card you have.
Also...have you installed the full CUDA toolkit? To run a CUDA app you're gonna need libcudart.dylib and libcudart.dylib_200102 (or something - its signature) in the same folder.

Thanks for testing iWork Pages to see whether you experience the same problem.
The lag is intermittent. It works fine most of the time, but some times it just lags and frustratingly it happens when I'm taking notes.

You could try the one here: http://hpc.sourceforge.net/
Then get anything else you need via MacPorts.

Excellent - Thanks...I would not like to see any network provider name engraved on the iPad!
It is very unlike Apple to have any non-Apple logos on their devices. When they started using Intel chips, they never had an "Intel Inside" sticker. They also never had an AT&T logo on their iPhones and do not have Verizon logo on their newer iPhones.
Thankful for that! I just find the plastering of stickers and logos, typical of PC and linux boxes, very distasteful.

Give me a time...I'll be there. Even tho 9A559 has been working out more than fine for me since it was seeded.
have you heard anything about how early you have to be to get a t-shirt?

Hi all
Does the 15' i7 Macbook Pro support 12.5mm height 2.5" SATA drives?
I found one by Western Digital 1TB 5400rpm, but it specifically states that it was 12.5mm in height.
If the mac doesn't what capacity can the MPB support up to ? as it looks like it can archive up to 6Gig with Sata 3.

It's "can't be arsed" to do something, not "arsed into". Slightly less rude. My children say it all the time. And it's "colloquial", not "Colloquiual"....
Ahhhh, thanks for the clarification. And I guess I need a spell checker in the title bar too! ;) :o

Is this even possible?

According to the App Store, iMovie requires iOS 4.2.6 or later. So your iPad with 4.2.1 might not work.

Alright first I thought it was a drive failure but now I know it wasn't. I took the hard drive out of my daughter Macbook Pro mid 2009 and installed the hard drive out of my Macbook Pro mid 2009 both 13 inch. Her computer won't boot to my drive when I know it's working fine. I get the apple and the spinning wheel and that's as far as it goes. After time I will get a circle with a line through it. Any ideas what could be causing this?:mad:

You're right I feel kind of sorry for the many people I have seen online who have installed the beta straight over the top of Snow Leopard and lost everything...

Hi -
I posted this about a month ago in the iMac forum and it hasn't been resolved. Someone suggested I move it over to this forum - so here goes.
My right shift key, arrow up key, and the 4, 5, and 6 keys on the number pad are all not working. Nothing has spilled.
I've plugged in a different keyboard - same problem. Zapped pram - problem remains. Trashed prefs, restarted, repaired disk permissions, mouse keys off, checked international settings, speech setting off - everything I could find online - nothing has worked. The keyboard viewer is showing that the keys are not being seen.
Two things have changed since I originally posted this in the iMac forum. I upgraded from 10.4 to 10.6 (finally), but the problem remains.
I've also tried out my wireless keyboard that I use with my laptop. Strangely - the wireless works fine.
Anybody have any thoughts? Why would TWO usb connected keyboards have the exact same issues, and the wireless work fine?
I'm fine with just buying a new keyboard - but I'm concerned that the same problem will happen with a new one.
Any thoughts are welcome.
Thank you!
