Seriously, The Beatles were great, I would think by now most people have their songs.I'm often surprised to meet a new Beatles fan who "inherited" their interest from their parents. And the publicity surrounding an iTunes debut would add to that interest.
I wonder if they'll have a "complete catalog" package?

what better way to find out about the C2D macbooks, than to find out instore! and actually inform the staff that they've been updated!! they didn't know apparently! well.. so they said, but yeah! was a nice suprise!
lol, yea the store employees are usually only informed when we are. managers and inventory people may kno earlier, but they're unlikely to say much.

If any of you have bought albums off iTunes with interact booklets I have discovered a problem - they don't work!!! - It plays it for a second as if it is a tune - it doesn't open it. arrgggh.

Looks like a normal iPhone where the display is shifted down almost midway, probably because of a bug with the display.

I really don't see any MB or MBP updates. Again, I could be off, but I don't see those until later this year.
I'm sure the C2D chips coming out on all sorts of Windows laptops may be putting some pressure on Apple to update their laptop line, but I think it's still too soon.
It's not too soon at all, at least for the MB pro. I doubt we'll see an announcement at THIS event, but I expect we'll see at least a MBP update in the next couple weeks. I'd guess no event, just a press release. Minis and iMacs should also get updated in the next few weeks, probably also a press release for each.

I am American. Perhaps that�s something the executive team at Wal-Mart has forgotten about. I am free to choose where and when I spend my hard-fought dollars. I seriously doubt this is a major concern ATM for home users with secured wifi access points (and by that, I mean wifi APs that filter MAC addresses). In order for someone to use this exploit, they would undoubtedly have to be on your network..
I thought the point of their claim was that you don't have to be connected to ANY network. As long as the wireless is on (and not necessarily connected to anything), they can connect to the computer.
Whether or not it's true is a separate matter, but it's what they're claiming.

GOD! this soooooooo pissssses me off! I'm so in a rage right now... If this story is credible- then we should all join together and boycott Walmart!... I'm so mad - Walmart comes into any size town, drives out other businesses (and doesn't think twice about that!)... and now...!!! they are trying to use their strength to bully the movie studios so they can keep their huge greedy share the way it is... all because iTunes has a new/innovative way to distribute movies!! Greed Greed Greed! I know Steve Jobs has to take a professional stance on this... but we all know what he is really thinking: "F-U WALMART!"

I'm definitely staying away from this update for now. Something about it actually just kind of scares me. It helps that my week 21 MacBook has only had the mooing issue and nothing else (so far). That issue has gone away with SMC Firmware Update 1.0, and I've had a great laptop ever since.

I was talking about a new one not a refurbished one. I want to buy the core duo macbook after the c2d ones are released because i do not need the uprgrades and i could get a good deal. The core duo macbook pros dropped $300 so i was wondering how much the macbooks would drop.

PC sales are shrinking because of stagnation in the primary driving force for selling new PC hardware.
Games.
Gamers now have 4 platforms to choose from (smart phone, console, hand-held, PC), and game developers are putting LESS dollars into high end PC titles and concentrating on consoles for their premium products.
With no Diablo 3 (or whatever) to entice me with gameplay I can't find anywhere else, I have much less of a reason to play games on my PC rig, much less upgrade it.
When it comes to writing emails or checking facebook, a smart phone or tablet will do that just as well as a PC.
Macs have never been gaming machines, so they are immune from that particular effect. It is 'trendy' to have a macbook right now (seriously, go to a coffee shop and tell me what you see), and the vast majority of their sales are to less-technology/gadget-savvy users who have bought their Mac because of other people telling them that Macs are good, rather than the hardware, specs, or software on the computer.
In the end, it is all marketing... which is the case with most of Apple's products. They have been selling PC hardware now for years at a higher price than their competitors. Windows 7 isn't any worse (or better) than MacOS for browsing the web or checking email..... so its not the OS that is influencing soccer moms and emo kids to buy Mac either.

Update: 9 to 5 Mac now reports that the cited source may have been a hoax, although it notes that it has received multiple tips of a MacBook Pro release in the very near future.

i'm not 100% sure, but you could swap the hd on your photo with a 240gb hd,
many have done this before.
(i'm sure you can do it with the "thick" 5g ipod, the 4g ipod may have a different hd connector)
i think the 5g ipod is the best piece of engineering ever made to listen to music outdoor.
i've never liked the "innovative" split screen software on 6g (classic), and my 80gb was somewhat slow and suffered click wheel issues, never fixed.
i really regret i've sold my 5g 60gb white ipod.. i've paid it 450€ 5 years ago!!! :eek:
I've done it on two 5.5g iPods. The problem is iTunesDB on the iPod breaks down when you get to around 33,000 songs (and Rockbox doesn't do any better). Nobody really gets it right anyway, I bought a 500 gb Android Tablet (Archos 5) and it too breaks down around 33,000 songs.
I'd love to see a big iPod classic or a touch with a HD. But for now I have to settle for streaming to my phone with AudioGalaxy. But then you have to deal with loss in quality and bandwidth restrictions on both your home ISP and your cell provider.

You're complaining because the FREE iPod that Apple is giving to you for FREE is the previous version that was just updated today, even though you're getting it for FREE!!! For you to complain about this makes YOU the rude one. You sound like a spoiled brat whining and complaining because the porche mummy and dada bought you for christmas is black instead of red. Um free is for a limited time only and you have to buy a $1000+ computer. Anyone who buys a $1000+ Mac should get a break on an iPod too. Also, I'm not complaining about the free iPod deal, I'm complaining that students used to get about a $30 break on all iPods year round. There is a reason why there is a whole education section on the Apple Online Store. Without students support, the iPod wouldn't be anywhere near the cultural icon that it is. Guess what, most students don't have a set income but their patronage is very important to Apple and iPods in general. And I'm 25, Mommy and Daddy haven't payed for me for a long time.
