I was on multiplayer earlier, you'd be surprised at how many thousands of people are already on it, via pre-orders I assume and different timezones judging by the different accents people had.

Not to threadjack this into an Apple TV thread, but the Apple TV appears to stream/store anything that can be played from in iTunes, and there have been ways to get your own TV shows and DVDs into iTunes for awhile now.

really ? hm anything official or are this just some nifty workarounds/patches/plugins/etc. ?
(not that i actually had the money for a apple TV or a device with a component or hdmi connector)

there is a very mac 84 like video on the samsung site. also they came out with a 10 megapxl phone too.
I work at Best Buy and I've messed with it. It's actually pretty cool until you roll out the giant piece of crap that is the speakers.

Analysis of the pros and cons of Blue-ray vs HD-DVD reveals that Blue-Ray disks have higher capacity (about 50GB), are more expensive, and blue-ray players can burn disks. On the other hand HD-DVD is comparitively cheaper, little less capacity (about 40GB), but cannot be burnt by commercial players.
Hence, I belive that the cheaper HD-DVD disks would be used instead of the traditional DVDs for distributing movies, games, music and other such applications. Whereas the Blue-Ray disks would be used majorly for storing data off a computer in a home or office setting. So, in the future laptops would come equipped with Blue-Ray drives and home theater systems would come equipped with HD-DVD players.

Last time I checked, it didn't take material wealth to have good character or to be exposed to it.
Of course not, but generally it does require being middle class. You can be a successful plumber or builder and a good role model. But if you are poor and out of work, or you have a low skilled job - such as working at McDonalds - you aren't likely to be a good role model.

This is nonsence. If the average user was interested in just Apple, then why are Apple on a lesser market share for pretty much... everything but MP3 players? How come Android is proving more popular?
You mean all the junk Google flooded the market with in order to inflate their share because they *still* can't make anything even remotely on the level of the iPhone?
Licensing out your OS to anyone that can slam together a box and unloading product via the likes of ZTE and cheap Asian outfits (i.e., the "other" category) is hardly impressive. It's the Wintel way of dong business. Great for pumping up market share, but the profits go to the cream of the crop: Apple. For the rest it's a race to the bottom.

I'm in 2011. And I'm seeing Android beat iOS in the mobile world, and slowly creeping up in the tablet world. I'm seeing OS X being turned from a pretty advanced OS to an App riddled toy. I'm seeing Apple discontinue server services. I'm seeing Apple making silly mistakes such as clock bugs and adding social networks to media players. I'm seeing Apple still not improve MobileMe.
You're seeing Apple hit new milestones and the competition keeping up the only way they know how: price and universal licensing. ZTE releases more Android junk and HTE releases their 20th variation of the same phone and it's crickets. Meanwhile there's so much as a hint of a new iPhone and the industry and market is just buzzing with excitement. The reason is simple: when it comes to Apple, consumer anticipation is in line with expectation.
As for the rest, Apple is following the same formula they always have. It's the ideal of engineering and design: simplify, simplify, simplify. Cut, cut, cut. Then perfect what's left over.
This is what results in record sales. With profits to match.

So far people have told me why my iPhone 4 is inferior to other phones, and the reasons are ridiculous.
"It looks bad" LOL.
"It's made of glass" I have iArmor Casing (Reference to that steel back photo at 9to5mac)
"Its camera has less megapixels than mine" It shoots with better color balance.
"It's expensive" It costs as much as any other smartphone.
"It's too flat" It doesn't wobble around when I put it on the table.
"It's rectangular" It doesn't slip out of my hand, like pod-shaped phones.
"It's fragile" Again, iArmor Casing and 6 feet drops have not destroyed my phone yet.
"Customer service sucks" LOLOLOL.
"Antennagate much?" Never happened to me.
"You can't remove the battery" The battery doesn't need removing; it never dies.
"My phone shoots 1080p" Good luck storing 8 5-minute 1080p videos on a 16GB phone.
"Apple Fanboy" Thunderbolt is a good phone, and Apple has some serious issues with labor.
"App Store isn't open to everybody" and therefore has more reliable apps.
"Screen is too small" 326ppi makes up for it.

"AT&T sucks" ...Moving on :D

another thing people should keep in mind is...why release all new products at one event when you can stagger the release and keep interest over a longer period of time.
i.e macbook pro updates are coming, just like most of things people want (although SOME of the things some people want are just downright crazy), but it wont happen at once, and its gonna take a while!

Think about this: Apple is in hot water with some European countries for the "monopoly" Apple has with its iPod and iTunes Store.
