AppleInsider confirms 4 and 8 GB metal-clad, multi-colored iPod nanos. They had previously confirmed the 23" Merom iMac. Now we can assume both of those will happen. The question is: what will happen with the full-size iPod. My prediction: absolutely nothing.

Given the cpu usage problems on new iMacs attributed in part to Flash, its a good thing Apple does not allow this resource hog onto the iPhone or your batteries would last 20 minutes! Adobe or Apple has to address the technical problems with Flash before it can be used on the iPhone or replace it with a different technology because as it is now, Flash is a bag of hurt on all Apple platforms.

1) Prejduice- BS. Plenty of successful blacks out there. The race card is officially invalid.
Just because some are successful does not mean all can be. There is plenty of racism still around in most countries, and yes it does effect the less off more than those that are well off.
2) Poverty- Yes, but why is the question? How is it that other races don't have such a huge poverty issue when living in western countries, but so many blacks can't get themselves out of it
Because Blacks are not all the same. You cant lump people of one race all in one group and expect them to all to have the same results. There is a history in the US of racism that still effects many black Americans. Many black Americans can't afford to go to college for example. Poverty is a vicious cycle that preys on its self.
3) Access to societal goods- How so? They're not exactly in concentration camps.
Poverty - look up computer ownership by race. Look up access to books, education, nutritional information etc by race.

I've downloaded the dmg and the installer has a customize option. In it there is a greyed out option to install "iTunes Phone Driver"... is that just the Motorola Rokr driver?
I noticed this too, and came to check this thread for someone mentioning it.
Jeej!

Basically what I'm saying is that I believe that violence should only ever be used in order to stop others from doing violence. In any other situation war shouldn't even be viewed as a viable option.
So by that logic. You agree with the enforcement of a No Fly zone in Libya.

As I've heard from those who've actually used Vista, Aero is the only reason to install it (thus far at least). Home Basic does not include Aero.
Assuming my Windows-using companions are correct, Home Basic thusly has nothing to offer. Hence, it is crap.

AH, see what you take for a reason not get it I take for just the very reason I want it... The ONLY thing I would Windows for are gaming and running one DB app that doesn't have an OSX version (yet - the next revision, which should be out before Vista, they claim will, woowoo).
So, for the most part I just want to boot into Windows to play a game or two. Which means that I want the leanest, least resource using Windows installation I can get. And the cheapest. As long as Vista Home Basic supports DX10 and all these "Vista exclusive" games that are being announced it will suffice for 75% of the Mac/Boot Camp crowd... and only cost $100. Probably snag it for $70 if you wait a bit and get an OEM copy from Newegg.
Vista+BootCamp = Wintendo.
Booya!

I bought CS5 just a couple weeks ago and today I got this nice email. I logged in and it looks like they will ship a free version to me when its released. At least they are trying.
So there's a grace period.
But as far as I can tell it's a secret grace period. I can't find any mention of how recently you must have purchased it.

Suddenly I am interested in this news.
My father in law's 17" PB just died last night. Apparently leaving dumb bells on the lid is bad for the laptop.
He is going to Turkey for three months at the end of this month and was intending to take the PB and my iSight camera so he can talk with us while he's there. Things have suddenly changed.

Ugh, this is going to give my PC-loving friends fuel for YEARS. Just like every little crap article that comes out about ANY possible Apple security problem.
If that's true, strongly consider getting some new friends. The previous huge Dell battery recall should be enough to shut them up, at the very least.
I guess I hit the "jackpot": both my 12" Powerbook and 12" iBook battery fall within the recall parameters. Will have to wait for Apple to fix their site so the serial numbers actually work. I uselessly spent about 25 minutes on the phone with AppleCare for no good result: they said try the web site later or call again tomorrow.
I will also have to go to all of my clients and check their batteries. A tedious enough task, but more billable hours for me, I guess.

Are you aware you can change the timeline to look like imovie6 HD? My biggest gripe about iMovie 11 is no third party plugins. iMovie 6 can use them though. I'm hoping the next FCE (if there will be one) has the same power as FCP. Yeah, it will be dumbed down but I want a semi pro editor for home use.
No I wasn't aware of this. I have iMovie v 9. Perhaps I'll play with the newest version before making the jump to FC.
Yes, a semi-pro editor for my home is what I'm looking for too.

I bet this is a preview of what Leopard is gonna look like.
Oh for the love of God I hope not.
Generally the layout is fine, but this thing (iTunes 7) looks absolutely FUGLY!
The scroll bars are a major salute to the XP era of Windows. By OS X standards, it's a quantum leap backwards, not forwards. And the control buttons just look cheap. Again, thats fine for XP - that's what XP users are accustomed to - but it's embarrassingly sub-par for OS X.
I can appreciate the interest in providing standardization across platforms, but these UI element changes, even though they don't impact usage, are completely unnecessary for OS X. This looks like a knock-off port of the Windows version of iTunes and not a native OS X application. The very thing Apple complained to Microsoft about regarding Office around version 6. You could write this sort of thing off if it was a third party app, but Jesus, this is Apple.

Another point - is that article cut down from a larger piece? The interviewer did a really bad job of following up the tough questions - he just let Jobs spin the answer (very skilfully, granted) into an Apple advert. No pushing for answers, just a change of topic.

I had a response all typed up and decided your original statement says more than I ever could to support my side of the argument.

LTE is the only possible feature that makes postponing the iPhone 5 to the fall a smart decision. I am not convinced it's going to happen, but I don't understand all these comments about how this fall would be "too soon." Most of the major phones released this year have 4G capability. Anyone who buys an iPhone 5 in Sept/Oct will be stuck with it until almost 2013, when LTE will be widespread on both AT&T and Verizon.
I can't possibly imagine anyone (who lives on the coasts, anyway) buying a smartphone in Sept/Oct 2011 that is not LTE capable.
I think Apple is on to something here. No matter what amazing features the iPhone 5 has, if it came in June or July and it didn't have LTE capability, then the refrain across its lifetime would be: "Yeah, it's a great phone, but it's not 4G."
After all the antennagate hype, Apple doesn't need to build a similar failure right into the iPhone 5. And, as others have pointed out, this allows Apple to go back to its previous naming convention, by following the iPhone 4 with the iPhone 4G.
