..hmm... as many of you know .mac has really been struggling in the past few months.
Prediction:
Steve will announce an all new .mac service, with web based applications reserved solely for .mac members. Also a new feature will be the ability to store videos on your .mac which can be streamed to your iphone and AppleTV 2.
j.
I like the sound of that. I'd love apple to do something progressive with .mac.

I'm getting more confused. In one paragraph is says, He said the technique could be useful in targeting specific people or specific groups of people who are in close proximity to an attacker -- for instance, a cafe that is frequented by executives of a particular company.
Then in another paragraph is says, A computer need not be connected to the Internet to be infected. All that's required is that it have certain wireless devices installed and that those devices be turned on.
And I'm still confused about whether or not the native Airport drivers are affected by this.
Nothing has been cleared up to me. There so many different reports.

iPad 3 - iPad 3D
I could really see that, with the iPhone 3G (it was actually the 3rd phone) and had 3G.
And it will be called:
iPad 3D.
You heard it here first folks.
Thanks to both you because Apple probably hasn't thought of this already.

I think they'll keep the Classic around until the iPod Touch exceeds 100GB. And I'm guessing that will happen in September.
Of course, I've been guessing that will happen "in September" for about 3 years running now.

...while Firefox and Camino stay at less than 49%.
On a full sized computer? That's horrible. Adobe has to get their act together and make flash more efficient before they can be allowed on the iphone.

I'm so confused. My 15" G4 does match the battery model no, 1078. But, the serial number is no where close. Mine starts with W! Where in the world did they get 3xxxx??? Thanks.
Then your battery is not subject to the recall. The model number is specific to a type of battery while each battery produced gets a unique serial number. Looking at the serial number Apple can tell if your battery came from Sony and when it was manufactured (in this case the leading few digits of the serial number is enough).

Why such a great camera on the iphone and such loser ones on the ipad?
The iPad uses its camera's mainly for Facetime and Photobooth. Video quality isn't impacted by megapixels, like on a camera. In fact, megapixels aren't even that important on a camera (!). The quality of the lens and the software that's taking the picture are FAR more important than megapixels. Megapixel count is a marketing term to sell new products. (http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm)
Taking pictures on the iPad is irrelevant for most users. I, myself, would never have the desire to take a picture with a 10" device. Seems pretty insane if you ask me....

Although:
http://www.macrumors.com/2010/03/11/macbook-pro-update-due-for-launch-as-soon-as-tomorrow/
that rumor was made up by someone in this thread, posted on 9to5mac as gospel, added to MR front page, we laughed in this thread about it, then it was removed on 9to5, moved to page 2 on MR, original poster banned... so yea, they may be coming, but if it is then that story is just coincidence.

I agree that this would be cool, but what would make it even better is enhanced iSync or other capability for third parties to take advantage and make content available. I suppose the iTMS could handle it, but the user should be able to load whatever he or she wants on it, I would think.
pdf's sound like a good start to me. :D

I have 3 USB 1 ports and 2 FireWire ports. Does that mean if I buy a new 8Gb Nano, it won't work with my system? :(

I love how everybody is like "I've got the CDs who cares" or "Buy the CDs they are cheaper". The Beatles on iTunes isn't for you. It is for people who don't buy CDs, it's for the future when the majority of people get digital music and it's certainly for a whole generation of kids who won't know what a CD is or care, in the same way that vinyl is now seen as archaic.
I'm sure I am repeating someone else's thoughts, but it doesn't seem clear to a lot of people.
Vinyl record might be something "archaic" in some peoples' opinion, but digital music can become a "fossil" in the future (in a very near future i hope :D). And don't worry, there are a lot of people who care about vinyl records; for instance a musician candidate like me.

There is a link to a disk image at "http://developer.apple.com/tools/download/", but when I click on it I am asked for my ADC member password, and on the next page there is no trace of Xcode 2.4. Only a link to XCode 2.3 download. Maybe they just got the name wrong, but I won't download 915 MB to find out.
Since it is a large download Apple is doing a staggered roll out of the download (Apple folks stated this). It appears to be rolled to premier members, then select, and finally free members.

So I could buy photoshop... and use it WHEN I need to for $35 a month? Like I could buy it, use it only once and only pay $35? that's pretty cool.

True, but at the same time there two things to consider. A lot better battery life and brighter screen. Those are the two positives of having OLEDs in the first place. True it might just be a rumor, but I guess we'll find out when we get these new ipods. (OLEDS can do pure black)
They're not using OLED screens. From the iPod nano tech specs:

It's definitely just a regular LCD screen.

Yep, same here, was stuck in recovery loop with ipad2
I even tried to reload the 4.3 image and failed (both at verifying image).
Had to connect to a PC and successfully updated the image. Then reconnect back to mac and restored settings/contents.
This is does not leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling for the iOS dev team. But glad the others had the same problem and was able to resolve it.

I have a screw in the bottom middle of my MacBook, but I honestly don't remember if it was there before I sent it in or not. Either way, it looks (and if I run my finger over it, it feels) like it was originally there, so I'm not sweating it.
i have a week 26 white 2.0 MB. it has a screw on the bottom in the dead center. it was never serviced.

the key issue in my case was that my macbook couldn't go to sleep or be closed, everytime it woke up, it wouldn't last longer than 3 seconds and then shut down and all of the other known symptoms.
I ran the firmware upgrade and it works fine now, it's not hot or anything and the fans seem to be working at a normal pace.
Well, I am grateful for the fact that I don't have to turn in the mac for 5 days or more for servicing... I make a living out of this thingy...:D
